Our Target Languages
The Blue Sutra is an extract from the Lotus Sutra of Mahayana Buddhism. Japanese mediators, Mr. Kabutaro Kubo and Ms. Kimi Kotani, were the original masters who extracted this portion of the Sutra for practice and realization by laypeople. Join us in a project to translate the Blue Sutra into the official languages of the UN’s 192 Sovereign Nations to serve all sentient beings.

If you would like to join us in this ambition endeavor please read the guidelines below for translation into your native language. We are also looking for native speakers to proofread existing translations. Contact us to offer any help you are ready to contribute.

Dear Translator(s),

Please find enclosed the Blue Sutra; an extract from the Lotus Sutra of Mahayana Buddhism. Japanese mediators, Mr. Kabutaro Kubo and Ms. Kimi Kotani, were the original masters who extracted this portion of the Sutra for practice and realization by laypeople.

Audience
Anyone with interest to read, study or practice Buddhism or Buddha’s teachings.

End-Use
Produced as a small booklet for Spiritual practitioners (of any denomination) interested in chanting this Sutra as a prayer or meditation.

Project Description
Translation is part of a philanthropic project to provide access to Buddha’s teachings in all official languages of the United Nations’ 192 sovereign nations. Total project time for translation, proofing and production is 6 weeks – completion by end of Fall 2010.

2. Quotation for Proof Reading only (if not selected as Translator).
3. Paypal payment is preferred. Provide your paypal email address. Or, if necessary, some other payment method you require (you must pay any additional fees for wires so include this amount in your quote). We will provide payment within 3 days of receipt of a confirmed translation with correct formatting and viewable fonts.
4. Provide any addition questions about Regional variations of target language
5. Specify if completion time is longer than 7 working days; we do not wish you to hurry, as thoroughness is most important.

2. Page Size/Format – existing page size and margins of Source document
3. Page Numbers – Romanized if acceptable in target language.
4. Use a the most popular True Type font for your language – Unicode is best if readily available.
5. Font/Typestyle – Match Font sizes and formats in Source document
6. The words (Sanskrit and Japanese) highlighted in Blue should be written phonetically in your target language. Please keep the Blue format in the final document. If your language supports Buddhist words in Sanskrit please translate accordingly.
7. Translated Document in MS Word.
8. PDF document of the Translated document. We will need this to confirm compatibility. Use a free print-to-PDF utility like at www.primopdf.com
