About the exhibit

Get ready for a shock to your system! Shocks and Jolts will zap you brain-first into the powered-up world of electricity. You can explore hands-on electrostatics with our captivating Plasma Tubes, learn about electromagnetism with the high-flying ring launch, build and test your own electric circuits, and much more. You never know what sort of electrifying discoveries you may make exploring and experimenting in Shocks and Jolts!

Educators

Shocks and Jolts makes concepts around electricity accessible for kids of all ages through a wide selection of hands-on experiments, projects, and activities. In the exhibit children are given the opportunity to build and test their own circuits, learning about the transfer of electrical energy into sound, light, and mechanical energy. Children are also invited to engage with a variety of interactive activities that allow them to learn through inquiry about the flow of electricity, electromagnetism, electrostatics, and circuitry.
